South Placer Lights Up — Holiday Celebrations You Don’t Want to Miss
IWith twinkling lights, hometown spirit, and holiday joy around every corner, this week marks the official start of the season across South Placer — and every city is offering something special for you and your neighbors to enjoy.
In Rocklin, head to Rocklin Tree Lighting at Quarry Park on Saturday, December 6. Starting at 4 p.m., enjoy a festive holiday market full of local crafters, food trucks, kids’ activities, live performances, and a visit from Santa — culminating in the tree lighting around 7 p.m.
In Lincoln, the Lincoln Hometown Christmas brings old-fashioned charm: downtown lights, cocoa, a holiday faire, and community holiday cheer. Bundle up, grab loved ones, and soak in the warmth of a small-town celebration.
In Roseville, the Downtown Holiday Celebration turns the historic Vernon Street Square into a winter wonderland with festive trees, music, holiday décor, family-friendly activities — and the city’s official tree-lighting to kick things off in style.
In Auburn, look forward to the Festival of Lights Parade — a magical evening parade that fills downtown streets with decorated floats, holiday spirit, and community togetherness (perfect for families or a festive night out).
Whether you’re looking for a cozy evening stroll under sparkling lights, a festive family outing, or just a warm dose of community holiday joy — there’s something for everyone. So pick a night (or two), grab a friend or loved one, and discover the holiday magic happening right here in South Placer.
A Hidden Holiday Gem on the Placer Wine Trail
Most locals don’t realize one of the region’s most delightfully quirky traditions happens right in our backyard.
Holidays in the Hills returns December 6–7, transforming the Placer Wine Trail into a festive, Griswold-inspired sip-and-shop adventure.
Expect over two dozen wineries dressed to the nines, new wine releases, live music, tasty treats, and even Santa stops — plus the annual Toys for Tots drive.
It’s a fun, only-in-Placer kind of weekend worth working into your holiday plans.

A Sacramento Staple Is Moving to Rocklin
Here’s a fun bit of local news: after 70 years in the same Sacramento location, McCreery’s Home Furnishings is packing up and heading to Rocklin.
The fourth-generation family business plans to open a fresh, downsized showroom on Granite Drive in early 2026 — right in the middle of Rocklin’s growing home-design corridor. It’s a big change for a legacy retailer, and a nice win for local shoppers who already frequent the area.
